Miss Sophia Ballet

Sophia has been dancing since the age of eight, training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, and pilates. She competed at the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition in 2012, 2013, and 2014, performing variations from Pas de Quatre, La Esmeralda, and La Bayadere. In 2012, she was invited to attend YAGP's intensives in New York City. She has also performed in ballets such as Coppelia, Cinderella, The Nutcracker (dancing the role of Spanish co-lead), and The Seasons (dancing the role of the summer fairy soloist), as well as a contemporary ballet entitled Be Not Weary. Outside of dance, Sophia graduated from Bradley University, majoring English. She is thrilled to be joining the MLSD staff, and she is honored to nurture the dancers of tomorrow!
